I'm still working on the High Elves. I've finished 20 of them this week : 10 Oathmark Elves & 10 Swordmasters of Hoeth. And bringing my total back on track : 160 in 8 months ( 20 a month ).

Little progress on the Archers : basecoat + wash of the pink.

No progress on the Highborn Elf Princess & Death Guards Drone.

High Elves : Swordmasters of Hoeth 5 finished !

I just finished these : Swordmasters of Hoeth.

This is the fifth group of these that I paint and still love them. And still want to paint more of them.

I've painted these in the Seaguards color-scheme for my High Elves army.

Standard-bearer , Champion & Musician.

Painted in 2018 : 160

High Elves : 10 Oathmark Elves Spearmen ( painted as Seaguards ) finished !

 Today I finished 10 Oathmark Elves.

I've painted them in my color-scheme for the Seaguards. ( as their banner and shields show boats )

These are the first 10 miniatures I made from the Oathmark box. I chose for spearmen this time.

A box contains 30 miniatures ( I've got 2 boxes ) , so eventually I'm going to make 20 spearmen , 20 archers & 20 swordsmen. All in the Seaguard theme.  

 The decorations on the flag & shield are decals specially made for the Oathmark Elves and not included in the box , but sold separately.

This is my first time with these kind of decals and flags made of paper.

 I also had some pictures of these side by side with some GW High Elves , but they were so blurry I could show them. I'll make some new ones in the future to show you guys.

Paint Table Saturday 250th edition !

 Welcome to paint table 250 !

 After painting the test-model for the Daughters of Khaine Melusai Blood Stalker the paint table was empty. I wanted to fill it with only the 10 Elves spearmen from Oathmark. But while priming them with silver , I over filled my airbrush. In the end I had to prime 31 Elves to empty my airbrush. So now I'm painting 31 Elves and a Death Guard Drone.

10 Swordmasters & 10 Oathmark Elves.

High Elves : Base colors + wash : Silver , gold , skin , hair , wood.

Swordmasters : Base color + wash + highlight : Seaguard blue.

Death Guard Drone : Only Rakarth flesh since last time.

That's the progress so far... I need to finish 20 miniatures before the end of August to be on track again. ( 20 miniatures / month )

Are you also frustrated by the miniature painting hobby ???

I'm very frustrated / angry lately with the miniature industry and all branches surrounding them !

I'll explain :

- Miniature manufacturers that present their miniatures as perfect creations often painted by artists ( and maybe also enhanced by photo shop ). These perfect creations can not be reached by us hobby painters and there for brings lots and lots of frustration for us. Ending in disliking the hobby or the miniatures of that manufacturer. Also they represent their miniatures better then they really are. ( often they're just crap in a box and that's kindly spoken) , Miniatures do not look like their box-art / digital renders , etc ...

- People on diverse social media platforms that present pictures of perfect painted miniatures. Lying about paint-scheme's , time they spent painting on a miniature , etc ...

Why lying ? Do you think people are idiots and believe the crap you write? Do you think they buy your perfect (photo-shopped) pictures?

I DON'T THINK SO ! ! !

- Miniature painting studio's that offer their service at ridiculously high prices. Who the hell pays +/-150 euro for just one miniature. What costs an army then thousands ???

And the quality is mostly not as high as they promised.

( No personal experience with this one , just following some studio's on ebay and other sites )

- People who sell miniatures second hand. They ask to high prices for old and mostly damaged miniatures ( or covered with massive layers of paint ). Also people who ask more money then the shop or manufacturer. Do you think we're stupid ??? This hobby is pricey enough without you trying to rip us off !

- 2 pots / bottles of paint that should be the same , but look different like day and night. Or paint new in the pot / bottle dried up. Spray cans that don't work ,etc... 

This shit is expensive enough without these escapades !

I think I could go on and on , but I'll leave it at this for now without naming anyone.

But know , I'm not going to be quit for long...

When I'm experiencing more of these things I mentioned above , I will post them here with evidence to back me up !

Daughters of Khaine : Melusai Blood Stalker test-model finished !

 I finished the test-model for my Melusai yesterday. When I took pictures today , I saw I forgot to paint the handle of the bow. This has been corrected and painted , but I didn't make new pictures.

 It got more colorful than intended at first , but it works I think.

 It was a busy week. I finished 14 Nighthaunt miniatures & I'm still working on the Melusai Blood Stalker test-model. A bit more progress than last time , but still not finished.

It's the only model on the paint table at the moment.

 And my interpretation of the Coral Snake pattern on the Melusai.
