Paint Table Saturday 132th edition !

Paint Table Saturday 132th edition !
Welcome to paint table 132 !
Not much has happened on the painting side. No progress on the Dracothian guard.
And I started on the Tomb kings Necrospinx.
( I lost my painting-mojo / momentum. )

On the reorganizing side much has happened.
I switched the sides of the table and moved almost all paint in a new movable paint station (+/- 400 paints and paint cans & other stuff in the bottom). A complete overhaul !
Now it's more spacious and more light from the window with a view at the cabinets with finished models for inspiration.

I hope you have a great weekend !

  3. I'm waiting for all of them, not only the necrosphinx! ;-)
I've got a question for you seeing all those paintcans. Are you working with the new GW paints? And is that a colorchart of them? I went to the shop today for some new cans off GW paint and I'm very upset because I don't know what to take, cause they changed all the names of the paints. And there is also a difference between layer, shade and undercoat or something like that. Can you clear this out for me please? For example what is the new name of Elf Flesh? Just answer here I will see it when you do! Thanks in advance!

    Greetings
    Peter

Hello Peter , follow the link above , there you'll find the conversion chart with all the old paints that get new names. All other GW paints are new , they even have an airbrush paint line now.

I use them for quite a while now.
Undercoat are the spray cans like Gorax White ( Is grey-ish not as white as the old one ) and Chaos black , ... These 2 are the only ones I use. All other spray cans you see are from Armypainter ( they have matching paints in bottles , but GW is following this trend ).

Then you have Base paints. They're a bit thicker than the Layer paints to get a better coverage of your miniature and can also be used as undercoat on your miniatures.

Then the Layer paints are more fluent so the paint below shines a bit through it ( depends on how thick or how many layers you make / want )

Then you have Dry paints. They're for drybrushing ( thicker paint )

Then texture paints for easy basing.

      Then Shades are the washes.

Then Glazes , they work like washes with one difference. They add color everywhere you apply it , not only in the gaps.

And finally Technical paints like Varnish , etc...

That's the short version of what I know.
( Elf Flesh = Kislev Flesh (layer paint) )

I hope this is helpful and you can always ask me. If I know it , I'll certainly help !
