I finished 5 Warhounds for my Chaos army.
As my other warhounds are purple and blue , I went for green and cream this time.
I also managed to paint the trim of the purple and blue Warhounds. I only meant to do that for years , now it's finally done.
Painted in 2020 : 48
Perfect!! What color you used for the flesh? Is it citadel?
ReplyDeleteThanks !
DeleteI used contrast Skeleton horde over a base of Wraithbone. And Contrast Magos purple in the darker recesses. All Citadel paints.

Thank you my friend! I must have this Wraithbone. :)
DeleteIt is a more redish tone than the screaming skull as I can see.
You're welcome George ! I always try to help a fellow painter. Wraithbone doen't have a redish tone. The redish tone is from the contrast paint Magos Purple. Wraithbone is a pale bone color ( lighter than Screaming skull ).
DeleteYou can also get a spraycan in this color (Wraithbone). Ideal for skeletons !
So final summary of how I painted it : Base Wraithbone then Contrast Skeleton Horde (apply like a wash , but not too heavy !) then drybrush Wraithbone again and lastly apply Contrast Magos purple in the recesses of the mini (recesses only !).

Thanks again! So, I'm fine with Screaming skull. I have some shaders from The Army painter and I believe the'll do the same redish result. They're a bit glossy and thats why I didn't try them alot yet.A light wash would do I think. I will give them one more chance :)

You're welcome George ! Yes you're fine with Screaming skull. If you use 2 parts red wash , 1 part purple wash and dilute this mixture with medium until you get the desired result. I believe that should result in a similar color (if not the same).
DeleteI hope it works out for you !

Nice contrast work on the fur for such bright colors :)
