The new High Elves...

Recently these images where release to show a new kind of Elves that will take the place of the High Elves.

 And what I can see so far is that they finally did something right and made better units than before.

And these units can even be added to a High Elves army to enrich them. (my opinion)

What's your feeling about these?

I really like the Hero , Spearmen and Cavalery ... but the beast and Teclis are not to my liking.

Teclis is ok , but I don't like the position he's in. But the beast looks weird with that head. Why not a beast head ? Gryphin for example.

My only hopes now is that they release quickly and don't cost an arm and a leg... but that last one could be a problem as the prices keep rising and the models per box keep shrinking...

 Welcome to paint table 325 !

I'll start with the finished models of this week.

As you could see earlier today I only finished 10 Night-Goblin Archers for my Gloomspite Gitz army.

And a look at the current paint table. 

I've added the last 5 metal High Elves White Lions , 5 Witch Elves and a second Alastriel.

Moon-Clan : Night-Goblins : Gloomspite Gitz : 10 Archers finished !

I finished another group of archers for my Gloomspite Gitz army.

It's a group from the Battle for Skull pass box. I really love the fact that they're from 1 piece.

They're from the period when I just started painting and you still could have lots of miniatures for less money ( 104 mini's for 50 euro's , remember? ). And it went all down hill from there , but those 2 last boxes are still my favorites. Battle for Skull pass ( Dwarfs and Goblins ) & Island of Blood ( High Elves and Skaven ).

High Elves : 2 Statues finished !

I finished my 2 Elves statues from Mini Monsters for my High Elves army. (And yes , I had to order 2) They're painted in the same style as my other High Elves scenery. I also added shiny gems (also like my other scenery).

 This Elven statue is the best one out there !

It's big , beautiful and worthy for my High Elves ! Totally awesome ! (But that's just me !) 

In my enthusiasm I forgot to take pictures of the other sides , but I hope to post those at Paint Table Saturday...

No finished models this week. Lots of progress on the Night Goblins.

And I started on 2 new High Elves Statues from Mini Monsters. They're new in their store and as I was looking for more High Elves scenery , I had to have this one and ordered 2 of course. They look awesome ! They're the best Elves Statues I have seen ! (If you have seen better , let me know - but I doubt it !)

I'll start with the finished models of this week. 

As you could see yesterday , I finished 5 White Lions for my High Elves army.

High Elves : 5 White Lions.

And for the paint table , not much happened after the White Lions.

But 10 Night Goblin archers hopped on the table and demanded some paint.

They're base-coated black and then dry-brushed with grey. 

Ready for the next step.

Will they be next? I don't know... as I don't like painting much of the same in a row.

 Welcome to paint table 322 !

Another year and a fresh start. It's the first paint table of 2020. And yes the time out is over.

I even finished painting a miniature. 

Necron Overlord :

The last miniature of 2019. And he brought the grand total on 258 miniatures painted for 2019.

In 2020 the goals are to paint less and have more fun doing so. Maybe even paint the WIP's that stayed unfinished. With those in mind , lets see the paint table...

Another year ended. And it's time again to look at the goals of 2019 and the completion of them.

Goal 1 : Paint 21 miniatures a month or 252 miniatures total. 2019 total : 258  COMPLETED

Goal 2 : Paint all miniatures of 1 army. FAIL ( not by a long shot )

Goal 3 : Build / paint at least 10 scenery pieces. Total scenery pieces 2019 : 69 COMPLETED

Goal 4 : Paint all WIP miniatures. FAIL ( not by a long shot )

Goal 5 : Paint a complete starter box of 1 army. COMPLETED

And now the goals for 2020 ... My 10th year of blogging ... or what has to pass for it at least.

As this is a special year , an anniversary year ... I'm not planning any special goals. In fact more the opposite , less painted mini's , less stress ... and hopefully more fun.

Goals for 2020 :

Goal 1 : Paint 11 miniatures a month or 125 miniatures total.

Goal 2 : Paint all miniatures of 1 army.

Goal 3 : Build / paint at least 10 scenery pieces.

Goal 4 : Paint all WIP miniatures.

Goal 5 : Paint a complete starter box of 1 army.

These are the new goals for 2020. We'll see in 2021 how it went...

Last miniature of 2019 : Necrons : Overlord finished !

 Last night I finished my Necron Overlord.

This was the last miniature I had to paint to finish a complete 'Start Collecting' box of the Necrons.

And I just wanted to ad this goal to my accomplishments of this year. He got completed before midnight , but I didn't manage to put up the pictures on here. So here they are today.

 He's painted in the same manor as the others.
