Dwarf Pillars finished !

Today I finished the Dwarf pillars from Mini Monsters.

I've painted them mainly in stone color as I didn't wanted to over do it with the gold and silver.

Now to pay a visit to my local hardware store for some Plexiglas.

This is how it should look like , but with a see through plate in stead of the wooden one.

I finished the Nurglings this week and that leaves the paint table pretty empty. Now I'm working on 2 of 4 Dwarf pillars. I'm planning to glue them on a piece of Plexiglas to create an extra layer for my display cabinets. If that works out like I'm planning , I'll order some more pillars...

Nurgle : Nurglings finished !

I finished these Nurglings yesterday.

I thought this was going to be an easy & quick job , but it wasn't. These buggers have a lot of details and are not so big. And if that wasn't hard enough , I used 3 different colors.

3 Piles of Nurglings and 7 loose ones. ( so far )

 I really like the diverse look of these fellows and the fact that they made some in ( almost ) every box of the Nurgle army. To stimulate the collecting aspect , I guess.

I'm currently working on some Nurglings. Base color & washes are done on the skins. Now I've started on the details. Lots of work still to do on these little buggers !

And now some other matters. I've noticed I'm getting more and more frustrated with people in the miniature community. I'm sick and tired of people who lie and bend the truth. It goes from " I finished it in an afternoon " or " I used this and that color " and you know of experience that it aint so.

And how many use photo-shop programs to enhance their pictures ( A lot ! )

And the worst kind of all : reviewers that aren't honest ! Glorifying the manufacturer when they don't deserve that good a review. And this all for some free miniatures and to get a bigger audience so companies give them more miniatures to review. 

I do reviews too and I've never said anything that I don't back up a full 100 %¨or deleted a comment of a fellow blogger just because it wasn't positive enough ! Everybody has the right to express their thoughts ! 

So fellow painters & miniature enthusiasts , don't believe everything they tell you. 

If the pictures look to good to be true. They're either painted by a pro or photo-shopped !

And never delete a comment of a fellow blogger ! All have the right to comment even if it's not what you or the manufacturer that provided your miniatures want to hear !

So now that that is off my chest , I wish you all a great weekend / lots of painting and see you all next week for another paint table on Saturday !

High Elves : Silverhelms finished !

Yesterday I finished this High Elves Silverhelms regiment. And now I had some time to take pictures.

 They're painted in my first color scheme (pink).

It took me forever to paint them as I have them about 10 years now. I painted one then and stopped as I wasn't happy how it looked. And now 10 years later I'm very happy with the result.

 I hope it doesn't take another 10 years to finish my second group. But for now I'm good.

I'm still working on the High Elves Silverhelms. The horses are done except for the basing & are moved off the table. Now I'm currently working on the riders. They're about 80 % finished.

Only highlighting silver & painting the gems and then they should be finished !

I'm currently working on the horses of the High Elves Silverhelms. Base colors + washes are applied. I hoped to finish them this week. But as always , life steps in the way... Maybe next week...

Bretonnia : Friar Tuck finished !

So this is the first mini for 2018 : Friar Tuck ! ( Bretonnian archer )

I painted him in neutral colors. And a new color-combo for the emblems : Blue / Green.

So far I used Blue with Purple , Red , Yellow and now Green.

I'm planning to have 8 combinations with blue. One for each knight and 4 servants ( 2 archers , 2 men at arms ).

Another year has ended and as I set no goals for 2017  I'll compare them with the year before (2016).

First goal of 2016 was paint 200 mini's and I painted 243 mini's in 2017 , so COMPLETE !

Second goal of 2016 was buying only 150 mini's and in 2017 I bought almost 1000 mini's. 916 for the record. A bit of a hording problem , I think.... FAIL

And the last goal of 2016 was making scenery / terrain. In 2017 I made lots of scenery pieces / terrain. So COMPLETE.

I collected data since the start of this blog and now I'll share it with you.

So this was the year overview of 2017 ! ( No mosaic pictures this year as all free programs that could make these are no longer free. And I refuse to pay !) 

Again I'm setting no goals for this year and hope the enjoyment of painting will make me paint even more , better , faster , etc...

So we will see next year how it went !
